About Lorne Simpson
Lorne grew up on beautiful Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. He first developed an interest in photography while attending University. Over the years that interest has blossomed, to bring Lorne to where he is today; an accomplished amateur photographer with an ever expanding portfolio of excellent work. He is mostly self-taught but with several courses and workshops under his belt. Lorne is a member of the Sackville Photography Club, the Dartmouth Photo Society and the Nifty Fifty. As a member of these organizations, he has acquired further knowledge and experience from fellow photographers, guest speakers and many field trips.
Most of his photographs are taken around his scenic home province of Nova Scotia where there exists a great variety of panoramic vistas, including the highlands of Cape Breton, the cliffs of Cape Chignecto, the lush beauty of the Annapolis Valley, the sandy beaches and rugged coastline of the Atlantic coast, the waterfalls, lakes and rivers of the backwoods, charming small towns with their heritage buildings and the skylines of Nova Scotian cities.
Lorne continues to explore Nova Scotia, looking for beautiful and unique photo opportunities. He also travels to other beautiful locales and always has his camera handy to capture those rare, beautiful moments in time as he stumbles across them.
